Candle Care & Safety – Hand-Poured Coconut–Apricot Wax Candles

What kind of wax do you use?

Every candle is hand-poured with our premium coconut–apricot wax, chosen for its smooth, clean burn and creamy, luxurious finish.

What kind of wicks do you use?

Depending on the candle, we use cotton core or wooden wicks, always 100% lead-free. Each wick is tested for performance, safety, and balance.

Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes! Trim your wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent “mushrooming,” reduce smoke, and ensure a steady, even flame.

Why do I see wax on the sides of the jar?

A little “hang-up” is normal during the first few burns. Allow each session to last 3–4 hours until the melt pool reaches the jar’s edge. This helps prevent tunneling.

Why do I sometimes see small puffs of smoke?

Tiny wisps of smoke can appear if your wick needs trimming or if your candle is near a draft or vent. Keeping wicks neat and candles away from airflow prevents this.

What is the “mushroom” on my wick?

It’s a small carbon buildup that forms naturally. Simply trim it before relighting — it’s your candle’s gentle reminder for care.

How should I extinguish my candle?

Use a wick snuffer or a heat-safe lid to extinguish the flame. Blowing out candles can cause smoke or splatter hot wax.

Do your wicks contain lead?

Absolutely not — all InnerCandescent wicks are 100% lead-free and clean-burning.

Why stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains?

As the flame nears the jar base, the glass becomes hotter and may crack. Always discontinue use when about ½ inch of wax remains.

Product Care & Sustainability – Eco-Luxury Candle Design

How should I store my candles?

Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to preserve their fragrance and appearance.

Can I reuse my candle jars?

Yes! While we don’t recommend refilling them with new wax, our glass vessels are perfect for creative reuse — holding flowers, crystals, or keepsakes — and are recyclable in most areas.

Can I return a candle if I don’t like the fragrance?

Because scent is personal, we can’t accept returns for fragrance preference. However, each product page includes detailed fragrance notes to help guide your selection — and a candle you don’t love may delight someone else!
